The Carnegie-Irvine Galaxy Survey is obtaining images of the 600 brightest galaxies in the southern-hemisphere sky, to carry out investigations of the structural properties of galaxies. The project benefits from the dark skies and excellent natural seeing at Las Campanas Observatory near La Serena, Chile.
